As a mommy I did a little research before watching this movie, we use Common Sense Media to get an idea of the movie before deciding to watch it. This website give real reviews by parents and also a great guide to what age group it is suitable for. We did see that it included some video game violence but it was a very small part of the movie and that it was done well.  So off we were with our popcorn and sour candies. This movie made me laugh, think and thoroughly enjoy it from start to finish. It had a great moral to the story that children of all ages could pick up on and I would highly recommend it for age 8 and up!

Homemade bread!

As winter really starts to settle in on our beautiful little island off the coast of Washington State we have decided it is time to start whipping up some creamy comforting warm soups and what better to go with your soup then a perfect little chunk of bread. This week instead of grabbing a loaf of sourdough from the local market we decided... LETS MAKE OUR OWN BREAD! For me it was more about the smell of fresh baked bread lofting throughout the house and for Bella it was about getting to play with and roll around the dough! So we set out with the idea that this would be easy, I mean come on the recipe is "No knead bread so easy a 4 year old could do it!" and here we are aged 30 and 9...We can do this! And boy did we... not only was the soup amazing the bread was everything we could have imagined...

So we had some hamburger meat and we were both tired of taco's and spaghetti and chili and figured there must be something fun we can do with hamburger meat! So we set out to find a nice warm recipe to use it up with! We came across Cheeseburger Soup. Bellas response "BLEH!" why would you want a soupy Cheeseburger?? Well hmmm something had to be good about this I mean it had 5 starts with close to 300 reviews... lets look a lil closer. As we pulled up the pictures we saw it was a beautiful creamy potato and cheese soup with hamburger added in and it looked DELICIOUS. I can say with 100% satisfaction it turned out exactly how it was supposed and it is now one of our favorite foods and we already cannot wait to make it again! We added a little bit more flour, and a tad more cheese and let me tell you having that hunk of fresh baked bread stuck in the side of the bowl soaking up all of the goodness was the perfect addition! NOTE: We also substituted for 2% milk and fat free sour cream.
